In case you haven't read, February is a month dedicated to the Greatest Teenage Girls (real or fictional), and this one is pretty iconic, not only for her fashion sense but also for her charming and deep personality. That's why I love you: Blair Waldorf.
Let's time-travel back to 2007, the year Gossip Girl was born. I've never been exposed to a show like that (obviously I didn't ever care for the O.C) and it was the first time I saw a character like Blair Waldorf. She was incredibly cool, her outfits were amazing and she made me realize how much I want to marry (or at least be the boyfriend of) a preppy girl who wears coloured tights and headbands.
Blair was a conquerer, a romantic and a drama queen. But she was also loyal, layered, intense and complex. I've always felt like I could relate to her and her choices, I truly understood her; except when it came to Chuck Bass (I completely feel like her relationship with him and college were the two factors that ruined the show, but that's another day's talk). Blair was, beyond everything else, intelligent, passionate and a dreamer. She fought for everything she had and, I believe, will be the most remembered character of Gossip Girl. Blair Waldorf, thank you for defining my generation.
My friend Mara wanted to do a shoot in this really beautiful building and the outfit idea was formal but with my own twist. I love, love, love my oversized pea coat and the watch-frame used as a tie. I think I did a good job capturing an Upper East Side scent and a little preppy vibe from Blair.
XOXO (hehe),
